Inorder to begin with the process first make sure that your device is installed with ClockworkMod Recovery and is rooted. As informed by the developers you need to be on a bootloader that is Android 2.x Gingerbread-based and is having a file format EXT4.

Before starting the process of flashing the device you must also make sure that its battery is charged enough and also opt for the nandroid backup as if incase you want things to revert back it will help you.

As this is still in Alpha stage more expectations are not promised because it is not yet completely ready for the use. Beta release is expected soon from the XDA Developers so till then you have to keep waiting .

Step 1

First you will be needing the ICS latest build for Samsung Galaxy Tab that you can easily download from the thread.

Step 2

To Galaxy Tab’s root directory .zip file must be transferred.

Step 3

Now the Tab must be turned off. On booting into the Mode of ClockworkMod ( you know how to hold key combinations that are specific ).

Step 4

Now under the main menu of ClockworkMod from mounts and storage, ensure to format System/Data/Cache.

Step 5

Then from the Main menu you need to Wipe Data/ Factory reset.

Step 6

Now navigate to main menu again to select the .zip file which has been transferred by you in the Step 2 (from install zip from SDCard then select zip from the SDCard ). Now the flashing process will be done successfully on to your Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Step 7

Finally navigating to main menu just initiate rebooting.

If the mentioned above steps are followed as said, booting of Galaxy Tab into Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream Sandwich alpha build will be successful.
