Synchronize or Download/Upload Your Email Attachments To Dropbox Automatically :
In one of my Previous articles I have mentioned a way on How to upload or download bulk email attachments to Dropbox. In that method, we used a software called Mail Attachment Downloader. There is also another method that you can follow. In this tutorial you will be learning about How to Use Maildrop For downloading or uploading email attachments to Dropbox.
How To Upload/ Download Email Attachments To Dropbox Using Maildrop :
Step 1
Two things you will need to make sure are :
1.) Dropbox must be installed on your computer.
2.) Go to your mail account settings, search for IMAP and it must be enabled ,then save the settings.
Step 2
Now Create filters in your email account so that , all the mails with attachments are organized into a single folder. I have previously explained how to setup filters in Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail . (In this tutorial, I will be using gmail to explain you).
Step 3
Login to your gmail account and go to mail settings. Now click on Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab and make sure that IMAP is enabled and save the settings.
Step 4
Now go to Filters tab and click on create new filter. Then you will be given empty fields to fill, you can either fill or keep them empty depending upon your requirement but make sure that you tick on the ”has attachments” checkbox given there and proceed to next step. There you must create a new label of your choice . (I created the label named Attachments as shown in the screenshot). Once you finished creating a new label click on Create filter button below. Thats it ! A new folder is created where all your mail with attachments will be organized at one place.
Step 5
Now download and install MailDrop . Launch MailDrop and give your email login credentials . Then go to Download tab and create a label with the name of the label that you have created while setting up filters. For Folder path , browse for your Dropbox folder and select it as the destination. You can give it an time option for scheduled checking. Now click Apply and then click on Ok.
Step 6
Thats it ! You are done ! You can now check by sending an email with an attachment to your email address and then you will observe that the attachment will be automatically synchronized with the Dropbox after sometime!
