Free Download iFaith 1.4 version Update : There comes another advantageous information from the developers of Apple. iH8snow has finally updated iFaith to version 1.4. This inturn renders support for saving SHSH blobs of iOS 5.0.x firmware. It helps you to save as long as you are currently running that firmware on your iOS device even when Apple is not signed in. A5 devices like iPhone 4S and iPad 2 are not supported. You will be able to save SHSH blobs using iFaith for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1, iPod touch 4G and Apple TV 2 only.

Above all what does this iFaith mean? iFaith is an open source SHSH dumper for the Windows family of operating systems. It has been written by iH8sn0w. It runs on all devices that are susceptible to the limera1n exploit except the iPad 2. How is it useful? This is useful when you receive a device with old firmware on it that you want to restore. Though Apple doesn’t sign that firmware anymore, you can still backup the SHSH data directly from the device. This makes you to set up the firmware later to avoid upgrading the firmware.
One thing to be borne in your mind is that while you can save iOS 5.0 SHSH blobs now (Provided you are currently running it on your iOS device), you wont be able to downgrade to the stock version of iOS 5.0, once you have updated to iOS 5.0.1 or later. This may be due to certain new checks used by Apple starting from iOS 5.0 to ensure people remain to the latest version of iOS. Further explanation can be found here.
