How To Read Emails In Your Gmail Inbox Offline :

Firstly why do you need to read an email offline ? Suppose one day your internet connection got disconnected or server might go unavailable and you urgently need to check your mail . This is really a very hard situation.Google understood the real and scenario came up with the idea of allowing offline reading of mails and all you need to do is making few minor changes to your Gmail settings.
Note : As of my research this method works for the following browsers only. The better choice is using IE explorer. [Firefox 1.5-3.6] [Internet Explorer 6.0-8.0]
Step by step Tutorial On How To Read Emails Offline :
Step 1
Firstly you have to login to your Gmail account .Now just go to the “Settings” option that will be present at the top-right-corner of your Gmail inbox.

Step 2
You must be seeing several Tabs and all you have to do is to select and click the Tab which says “Offline”. As soon as you click it there will bunch of settings options that will be available out of which you will see two radio button options of which you have to select “Enable Offline Mail for this computer“.There is also attachment size option provided with which you can setup which attachments you want to download.

Step 3
Now in other options you will be seeing “create a desktop shorcut” just go ahead and clik on it if you need to create a shortcut that can be readily accessed from your desktop otherwise just skip this step.
Step 4
Finally by Clicking on the Save changes button you must be able to save every change that you made to your Gmail account.
Step 5
Next you will be taken to a Google gears website where you need to download the required google gears software. Just agree the license after you read and click download . A setup will be downloaded which you have to run and install.(If you have already installed gears try installing it again by this method).

Step 6
After installing gears your browser will be restarted. Now sign in to your gmail account and go to Settings -> Offline tab and click on save changes and then Next .

step 7
Then a security warning pops up and you need to check that as “I trust this site” and then click on Allow to proceed.

Step 8
Now this will start creating an offline mail installation which might take a couple of minutes and then you are done ! The logic is that Gmail keeps on synchronizing your mails in your inbox to the offline mode of inbox so that even if there is an internet connection failure you will be able to check your emails.

Note : Firefox users if you encounter a problem while setting up this process Just go to your browser settings and click on gear settings. Then remove “https://mail.google.com” from the list of denied sites and consider restarting your Gmail as well as the offline mode setup process. This might help you.
So this is all about Offline reading of Gmail mails .
