Here is a Guide or Tutorial to Install Android CyanogenMod 7.1 Alpha 3 on HP TouchPad Tablet . The software in the tablet was originally webOS 3.0 at the time of shipping but few days back there is a port done by the developers on the HP tablet (discontinued) to run Google Android OS. The latest new build of Google Android has been released by the team members of CyanogenMod for the most popular HP TouchPad tablet.
There are a number of updates available for the CyanogenMod 7 Alpha 3 that came up with various bug fixes and following are few of them.
* The main issue that made the HP Tablet ability to get resumed from sleep i.e., The Sleep Of Death must be totally gone.
* The capabilties of WiFi should get better.
* For HP TouchPad 4G there is a support made available preliminarly.
* While you run the apps in full screen mode not too many system resources must be used by the Status bar.
As this build is still in alpha stage there are certain problems that you might have to encounter. Though there are lots of improvements like Camera when it comes to working the potential is not much as expected. Lots of new bugs are being introduced and one such bug is the ability of hearing any music or audio using headphones. So you need to follow this procedure very carefully if you are Ok using Alpha 2 build previously and want headphones that can really work !
So it would be very useful and easy if you have gained enough experience using Alpha 1 and Alpha 2 builds on your HP TouchPad tablet. You also need to make sure that ClockworkMod Recovery is installed and then move on with the process.
Step 1
First you need to get a file named update-cm-7.1.0-tenderloin-a3-fullofbugs-signed.zip downloaded from a forum of RootzWiki. Just download it directly on to HP tablet or you can also get it downloaded to computer and then moved or copied to touchpad.
Step 2
On your SD Card you must see the location of Zip file.
Step 3
Before selecting the reboot option, Press on the Power button and hold it for sometime to then go on with rebooting.
Step 4
Now you need to hit on a option called ” Reboot To Recovery ”
Step 5
After following the above step, HP touchpad will be rebooted to ClockworkMOD recovery.
Step 6
Inorder to navigate make use of the volume buttons and then you will find a option which insists you to install zip from the SD card.
Step 7
For the selection you need to Tap on the home button.
Step 8
To select the option ” Choose zip from SDCard” Home button must be used.
Step 9
By making use of those volume keys easy navigation can be made to the file that you need. Find if it is in the SDcard root directory by scrolling down and then hit on the Home button.
