I think for such a giant like facebook it is not very important to manage backups since facebook all the time do that for us. Still if some one wants to do that I think this very nice article to read.
Hi there. Nice blog, very informative.
You’re right, the native back-up of Facebook is very useful, but also a little limited. You have to wait for them to let you know when it’s ready and then you have to download it. And once you’ve downloaded it, there isn’t a great deal you can do with it. For a lot of people that won’t be an issue and they will just be happy that they have a copy of their photos stored somewhere on their hard-drive.
If you want something a bit more special with added functionality, you could try SocialSafe – your Facebook and Twitter offline journal. Backing up Facebook profiles, Twitter accounts and now Facebook pages, all of your content is presented in a searchable offline journal. You can view photos, wall posts and updates with all of the comments and tags as a diary. Either search for a word, phrase or person, or use the calendar to jump to any date in your social networking past to see what you were doing.
As I said, Facebook’s own backup will be enough for a lot of people, but for those who want to really take control of their Facebook and Twitter content, SocialSafe should be worth a look.
